There’s this mat, a piece of carpet, in the downstairs bathroom. It is right across the hall from my “facilities,” which are kept clean and completely adequate by the Girl Who Has Bathroom Duty.. But I am drawn to that bathmat like a dog is drawn to  his own… well, you know.

Is this so wrong?

Update 10:20a: The Big Guy has thrown out the bathmat. Apparently, I am what he calls a “repeat offender.” I don’t know what I will do… the tile floor is very cold…

Update 11:30a: In my defense… have you ever “done your business” while standing on your tip toes in a tiny bucket of sand with past “business” all around? It would make you yearn for “wide open spaces” also…

Update 5:05p: I got the little mat this time…. hehehe…. the Cute Girl With Bathroom Duty was called into service.

Final Update: Now they are closing the door to the bathroom. Dang.

Peace and Quiet… Finally.

My humans hosted a birthday party on Saturday for the Skinny Cousin. They invited hundreds of other humans– mostly family– for dinner and video games. It was loud, raucous and out of control.

(Okay, so it was about 20  humans. Look at it from my perspective…. count the legs, give triple score for the two boys, “Twister” and “Ricochet,” and add in a few extra points for Wii Tennis… now we’re close to triple digits.)

I spent most of the afternoon asleep. After the Skinny Cousin opened presents, everyone but the Boss, the Big Guy, the Girl Who Feeds Me and the Cute Girl With Bathroom Duty went home. Oh, yeah, the Skinny Cousin spent the night as well. All in all, it was a pretty good day.

It’s time for another nap.

I hate to launch my brand-new blog on such a down note, but I have to vent a little about what happened to me today. The Big Guy took me to the vet for my first vaccinations. The Girl Who Feeds Me, the Cute Girl With Bathroom Duty and the Skinny Cousin put me in a box and took me for a ride to the Eastside Animal Medical Center in Grayson.

The place is new and pretty nice, although it had a disgusting smell… like dog. In fact, I saw a couple of the nasty creatures there. I didn’t see another cat but, then, it was only 10:30 am… I was only awake because I had an appointment with pain.

The Woman in the Long White Coat was nice enough, although she poked and prodded me until I was a bit sore. They took me to another room to check my temperature, and I am not even going to tell you what happened then. Let’s just say that I wasn’t asked to put the thermometer under my tongue….

And if that wasn’t bad enough, the Woman in the Long White Coat stuck me with three injections, one in each leg. I didn’t flinch, not one bit. But I couldn’t walk straight for several hours.

I understand that I have to go through the same thing all over again in a month or so. I am not looking forward to that. The Big Guy also said something about getting me “fixed.”

I didn’t think that I was broken.
